  • SAP Tcode: /AIF/IF_TRACE - Interface-Trace-Level

    Overview:
The SAP transaction code /AIF/IF_TRACE is used to set the trace level for the Application Interface Framework (AIF). The AIF is a framework that enables communication between different SAP systems and external applications.

    Functionality:
The /AIF/IF_TRACE transaction code allows users to set the trace level for the AIF. This trace level determines how much information is logged when an interface is executed. The trace level can be set to one of four levels 0 (no logging), 1 (basic logging), 2 (detailed logging) or 3 (debugging).

    Step-by-step How to Use:
    1. Enter the transaction code /AIF/IF_TRACE in the command field.
    2. Select the interface for which you want to set the trace level.
    3. Select the trace level you want to set from the drop-down menu.
    4. Click “Save” to save your changes.

    Other Recommendations:
It is recommended that users only set the trace level to 3 (debugging) when troubleshooting an issue with an interface, as this will generate a large amount of log data which can slow down system performance. Once the issue has been resolved, it is recommended that users reset the trace level back to 0 (no logging).
