You tried to deselect the <ZK>Activate Inventory-Managed MPN</> checkbox
in the
<DS:SIMG.MPN_CONV_EXIT>Specify Settings for Inventory-Managed MPN</>
Customizing activity.

The system will not let you deactivate the inventory-managed MPN
functionality as MPN concatenation is currently enabled for the
following material types:
&V2&
Note that a maximum of only 10 records can be displayed here. To view
the complete list of material types for which concatenation is enabled,
perform the following steps:
Execute transaction <NP>SE16</>
On the <LS>Data Browser: Initial Screen</>, specify the table name
<NP>T134</> and choose <LS>Table Contents</>
On the <LS>Data Browser: Selection Screen</>, set the value of
<LS>CONCTD_MATNR </>field as <LS>Not Equal to</> ' ' (Space) and choose
<LS>Execute</>
The system displays all material types for which concatenation is
enabled

Proceed as follows:
In Customizing for <LS>Logistics General -> Material Master -> Basic
Settings -> Material Types -> </>
<DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENUOLMSOMS2>Define Attributes for Material Types</><LS>
</>, choose a material type for which concatenation is enabled
For the material type, select <ZK>Disable</> in the
<DS:DE.CONCTD_MATNR>Concatenated Mat No.</> field
