  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message X4502 - The work center &1 / plant &2 is not in the active integration model ?

The SAP error message X4502 indicates that a specific work center in a particular plant is not included in the active integration model. This error typically arises in the context of SAP's integration with other systems, such as SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP, particularly when dealing with Master Data Management or when using the SAP Integration Model for data replication.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Work Center in Integration Model: The work center and plant combination you are trying to use is not part of the active integration model. This means that the system does not recognize this work center as valid for the current integration scenario.
    2. Inactive Integration Model: The integration model that includes the work center may not be activated or may not be the one currently in use.
    3. Data Replication Issues: If you are trying to replicate data from one system to another, the work center may not have been included in the data replication setup.

    Solution:

    1. Check Integration Model:

      • Go to the transaction code CPI1 (for displaying integration models) or CPI2 (for changing integration models).
      • Verify if the work center and plant combination is included in the active integration model.
      • If it is not included, you will need to add it to the integration model.
    2. Activate Integration Model:

      • If the integration model is not active, activate it using transaction code CPI1 or CPI2.
      • Ensure that the model is correctly configured to include all necessary work centers and plants.
    3. Replicate Data:

      • If you are working with data replication, ensure that the work center is included in the data replication setup.
      • Use transaction code CPI1 to check the settings and ensure that the work center is part of the replication process.
    4. Check for Authorizations:

      • Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to view and modify the integration model.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or help resources for specific details related to your version of SAP and the integration model you are using.

    Related Information:

    • Integration Models: These are used in SAP to manage the data flow between different systems, ensuring that master data is consistent across platforms.
    • Work Centers: In SAP, work centers are locations where operations are performed, and they are critical for production planning and control.
    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CPI1, CPI2, and CPI3 for managing integration models.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis or technical team for further investigation, as there may be underlying configuration issues or system-specific settings that need to be addressed.
