What causes this issue?

You have chosen a processing function (for example, add) that affects
only one selected line.
If no line has been selected then the line on which the cursor has been
positioned is used.
However, if the cursor is positioned outwith the table and no line has
been selected, then the function cannot be executed.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Select an entry and call the function once again.

  This message typically appears in SAP when a user is expected to select exactly one entry from a list or selection screen, but either:
  
  No entry is selected, or  
  More than one entry is selected.
  
  The system requires a single, unambiguous choice to proceed, and multiple or zero selections violate this requirement.
  
  When does it occur?
  
  During selection screens or pop-ups where the user must pick one item (e.g., selecting a single document, vendor, material, or any master data record).  
  In custom or standard SAP transactions where the logic enforces a single selection for further processing.
  
  
  
  Solution:
  
  Select exactly one entry: Review the list or selection options and choose only one item before proceeding.  
  If no entries are selected: Make sure to select one entry.  
  If multiple entries are selected: Deselect all but one entry.
