What causes this issue?

You want to use attribute &V1& as the master data attribute of the
planning characteristic &V2&. This attribute is also a planning
characteristic, however. The characteristic refers to the same database
table &V3&. For technical reasons, this is not possible.

The assignment is not adopted.

How to fix this error?

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
