What causes this issue?

You have selected the enhancement "Characteristic Planning" for
planning layout &V2& (planning step &V1&). Before characteristic
planning can be run, the planning characteristic to be used for
characteristics planning in the appropriate planning layout must be
entered. This has not yet been done.

System Response

The planning scenario can be activated. The enhancements are, however,
automatically deactivated for characteristics planning when you enter
manual planning for planning layout &V2&.

How to fix this error?

In the details screen for planning layout &V2&, deactivate the planning
enhancement "Characteristic PLanning" or enter the appropriate planning
characteristic for which characteristic planning is to be run.

Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
