- No stock balance display possible: valuation area is company code ?The SAP error message WV212 "No stock balance display possible: valuation area is company code" typically occurs when you are trying to display stock balances in a context where the system expects a different level of detail or configuration. This error is often related to the way stock is managed and valued in the system.
Cause:
- Valuation Area Configuration: In SAP, the valuation area can be set at the plant level or the company code level. If the system is configured to use the company code as the valuation area, it may not allow stock balance displays at a more granular level (like plant or storage location).
- Missing Data: There may be no stock data available for the selected criteria, or the stock may not be properly configured in the system.
- Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to view stock balances for the specified valuation area.
Solution:
Check Valuation Area Settings:
- Go to the configuration settings in SAP (Transaction Code: SPRO).
- Navigate to Logistics > Material Management > Valuation and Account Assignment > Define Valuation Area.
- Ensure that the valuation area is set correctly according to your business requirements (plant vs. company code).
Display Stock at the Correct Level:
- If the valuation area is set to company code, ensure you are trying to display stock balances at the company code level rather than at the plant or storage location level.
- Use the appropriate transaction (e.g., MB52 for stock overview) and ensure you are selecting the correct parameters.
Check Stock Data:
- Verify that stock exists for the materials you are trying to view. You can use transaction codes like MB5B or MMBE to check stock levels.
- Ensure that the materials are properly configured and that there are no issues with the material master data.
Authorization Check:
- Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to view stock balances. This can be checked with your SAP security team or by reviewing the user roles assigned.
Consult Documentation:
- If the issue persists, consult SAP documentation or reach out to SAP support for further assistance.
