Message type: E = Error
Message class: WFCS - Message Class for Store Forecasting (Dev. Package WFCS)
Message number: 211
Message text: Forecast results are only simulated
The program is in simulation mode.
The system runs the forecast, but the results are not saved to the
database. A list of the forecast results is displayed in online mode.
However, the system creates an application log for each plant, that is
saved to the database. You can view the log using transaction WFCSL01.
The log contains essential information on errors or information that
would also be given in posting mode.
The simulation mode is only intended for test purposes. You can use the
simulation mode to check whether master data or movement data that may
be needed for the forecast run is missing. The system does not save the
results from the simulation mode.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

WFCS211: Forecast results are only simulated

The message WFCS211 indicates that the forecast results you are viewing or working with are simulated results, not actual saved or committed forecast data. This typically happens when you run a forecast simulation or preview without saving the forecast to the database.
In other words, the system has generated forecast data based on your input parameters, but this data exists only temporarily in memory or in a simulation mode. It has not been saved as an official forecast version or committed for further processing.

Simulation Mode:
Simulation mode is useful for testing different forecasting models or parameters without affecting the actual planning data.
Impact of Not Saving:
If forecast results remain only simulated, subsequent planning steps (like supply planning, production planning) cannot use these results, as they are not committed.

Effect | Forecast data is temporary and cannot be used for further planning or reporting. |
Solution | Save the forecast results explicitly to create a committed forecast version. |
Prevention | Always save forecast after simulation if you want to use the results in planning processes. |
If you continue to face issues after saving, check system logs or SAP Notes for any known bugs or authorization problems related to forecast saving.
