Message number: 395
Message text: Overlapping entries as of &1 in value area for characteristic &2
While generating the SCE knowledge base runtime version, the system
found a numeric characteristic with an invalid global value range.
The error is typically due to the fact that there are overlapping
intervals in the value range.
For example: 10 - 50 and 10 - 100
Generation of the knowledge base is canceled.
Check the value range for the characteristic specified. Change the value
range so that there are no overlapping intervals, and generate the SCE
knowledge base runtime version again.
In the example above, the value range can be defined as a simple
interval 10 - 100.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

This typically occurs in the context of variant configuration, where multiple entries for a characteristic in a value area overlap in terms of their validity periods or conditions.
Cause:
The error is caused by having multiple entries for a characteristic that are defined for the same time period or condition, which leads to ambiguity in determining which entry should be applied. This can happen due to:
- Duplicate Entries: Two or more entries for the same characteristic that overlap in their validity periods.
- Incorrect Configuration: Misconfiguration in the variant configuration settings or master data.
- Data Migration Issues: Problems during data migration or updates that lead to inconsistencies in the entries.
