  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

    You have assigned a <LS>Scenario</> and a <LS>UI Configuration</> to the
change request type &V1& for the entity type &V2&. This is not possible.
If the change request type &V1& for creating form-based change requests
is to be used, assign it a scenario (and not a UI configuration).
However, if the change request type &V1& is to be used to create change
requests that are based on a UI configuration, you can assign it a UI
configuration (in this case, you must not assign a scenario).
    <ZH>Note</>
If the change request type &V1& is to be used to create change requests
that are based on a UI configuration and you do not assign it a UI
configuration, the UI configuration defined in the roles or user
    parameters is used.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message USMD2068 - Change request type &1: Specify either a scenario or a UI configuration ?

The SAP error message USMD2068 indicates that when you are trying to create or modify a change request in the SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) application, you need to specify either a scenario or a UI configuration. This error typically arises when the system cannot determine the context in which the change request should be processed.

    Cause:

The error occurs due to one of the following reasons:

    1. Missing Scenario: The change request does not have an associated scenario defined. Scenarios in MDG define the business processes and rules for managing master data.
    2. Missing UI Configuration: The user interface (UI) configuration that is supposed to be linked to the change request is not specified. This configuration determines how the data is presented to the user.
    3. Incorrect Configuration: There may be an issue with the configuration settings in the MDG system that prevents the system from recognizing the scenario or UI configuration.

    Solution:

To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Change Request Type:

      • Go to the configuration settings for the change request type in the MDG application.
      • Ensure that a valid scenario is assigned to the change request type.
    2. Assign Scenario:

      • If a scenario is not assigned, you need to assign a relevant scenario that corresponds to the change request type you are working with.
      • This can typically be done in the MDG customizing settings under the relevant change request type configuration.
    3. Check UI Configuration:

      • Verify that the UI configuration is correctly set up and linked to the change request type.
      • Ensure that the UI configuration is active and properly defined in the system.
    4. Testing:

      • After making the necessary changes, test the change request again to see if the error persists.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to the SAP Help documentation for Master Data Governance for detailed information on configuring change request types, scenarios, and UI configurations.
    6. Contact Support:

      • If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting with an SAP expert who can provide further assistance.

    Related Information:

    • MDG Scenarios: Scenarios in MDG are predefined processes that dictate how master data is created, changed, or deleted.
    • UI Configuration: This refers to the settings that define how the user interface behaves and what data is displayed to the user during the master data management process.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that might address known issues or provide additional guidance related to this error message.
