How To Fix UCS0027 - Status changes are currently not possible

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: UCS0 - Messages for Status Management

  • Message number: 027

  • Message text: Status changes are currently not possible

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

This message can occur when there are competing write accesses to status
tables. For status changes, the system locks entries in the status
tables exclusively for a short timeframe, so that multiple users cannot
    simultaneously change the task status.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

This case should not occur, or only very rarely occur, in live
operations. In particular, this can only occur when many users
simultaneously access the status tables (for example, during data
    collection).
If in doubt, repeat the task execution or the save operation.
If an exclusive write lock persists more than a few minutes and this
message reappears or appears constantly, then most likely a
status-writing process has been terminated (due to external factors)
while this process was exclusively locking the status table.
In this case, delete the lock entry manually using transaction SM12. To
find the lock entry, search for table name "RSTAB" using lock argument
"MON" and leave the user name field blank.
