What causes this issue?

You have not specified the posting items for scope of reported data &V1&
under Equity Method Posting in Customizing for consolidation of
investments.
For each scope of reported data you need to specify items for the
investment, offsetting entry, divestiture, negative investment, and
statistical scope of reported data.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
