  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message UCF4110 - Target assignments are not identical for equivalent tasks ?

The SAP error message UCF4110 indicates that there is a mismatch in target assignments for equivalent tasks in the context of SAP's Universal Configuration Framework (UCF). This typically occurs when you are trying to assign tasks to different targets (like different systems or environments) that are supposed to be equivalent but have inconsistent configurations.

    Cause:

    1. Inconsistent Target Assignments: The error arises when the same task is assigned to different targets, but the assignments are not identical. This could happen if:

      • The tasks have been modified in one target but not in another.
      • There are discrepancies in the configuration settings or parameters for the tasks across the targets.
      • The tasks are expected to be equivalent but have been set up differently in the system.
    2. Configuration Errors: There may be configuration errors in the UCF setup that lead to this inconsistency.

    Solution:

To resolve the UCF4110 error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Review Target Assignments:

      • Check the target assignments for the tasks in question. Ensure that they are identical across all equivalent tasks.
      • Compare the configurations of the tasks in the different targets to identify any discrepancies.
    2. Synchronize Configurations:

      • If you find differences, update the target assignments to ensure they are consistent. This may involve modifying the configuration of one or more tasks to match the others.
    3. Check for Updates:

      • Ensure that all relevant systems are updated to the same version of the tasks and configurations. Sometimes, updates can lead to inconsistencies if not applied uniformly.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to UCF and the specific tasks you are working with. There may be specific guidelines or best practices for setting up equivalent tasks.
    5. Testing:

      • After making changes, test the configuration to ensure that the error is resolved and that the tasks function as expected.
    6. Seek Support:

      • If the issue persists, consider reaching out to SAP support or consulting with a technical expert who specializes in SAP UCF.

    Related Information:
