SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: UC0 - General Messages for SAP Consolidation

  • Message number: 115

  • Message text: Characteristic &2 does not exist in client &1

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

During the conversion of SEM-BCS default values, default values for
characteristic &V2& were found in client &V1&. However, this
characteristic was never created in this client.

    System Response

The default values are not converted for characteristic &V2&.

    How to fix this error?

This situation can occur, for example, if you have imported the default
values from another system. If databases with other subassignments exist
in this other system and default values were maintained for the
subassignments, but these data bases were never imported into this
system, then database records occur with default values for
characteristics that are not used. These default values are also not
used so that a conversion is not necessary.
In this case you can ignore the message.
If you use characteristic &V2& in this system as a subassignment then
generate the data basis and start the XPRA again.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message UC0115 - Characteristic &2 does not exist in client &1 ?

The SAP error message UC0115 indicates that a specific characteristic (identified by &2) does not exist in the specified client (identified by &1). This error typically occurs in the context of SAP's classification system, where characteristics are used to define the properties of objects in the system.

    Cause:

    1. Non-Existent Characteristic: The characteristic you are trying to use has not been created in the specified client.
    2. Client-Specific Data: Characteristics can be client-specific, meaning they may exist in one client but not in another. If you are working in a different client, the characteristic may not be available.
    3. Authorization Issues: There may be authorization issues preventing you from accessing the characteristic, although this would typically result in a different error message.
    4. Transport Issues: If the characteristic was recently created or modified in another client and has not been transported to the current client, it will not be available.

    Solution:

    1. Check Characteristic Existence:

      • Go to the transaction code CT04 (Create Characteristic) or CT05 (Change Characteristic) and check if the characteristic exists in the specified client.
      • If it does not exist, you may need to create it or transport it from another client where it exists.
    2. Create the Characteristic:

      • If the characteristic is indeed missing, you can create it using transaction CT04. Ensure that you define it correctly according to your business requirements.
    3. Transport the Characteristic:

      • If the characteristic exists in another client, you may need to transport it to the current client. This can be done using the transport management system (TMS).
    4. Check Client Settings:

      • Ensure that you are working in the correct client. You can check your current client in the SAP GUI at the top right corner.
    5. Authorization Check:

      • If you suspect authorization issues, check with your SAP security team to ensure you have the necessary permissions to access the characteristic.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:
      • CT04: Create Characteristic
      • CT05: Change Characteristic
      • CT03: Display Characteristic
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or updates related to this error message.
