SAP Error Message - Details

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The PC editor could not be called. During installation or operation of
the PC editor, errors occured that indicate that your PC does not have
    the proper OCX components installed.

    System Response

The system automatically calls the line editor.

    How to fix this error?

While installing the frame or generating components, an error occurred.
There are several possible reasons for this.
First check to see if your system fulfills the necessary technical
requirements for using the new PC editor. Your frontend must be running
either Windows NT 4.0 or Windows95. No other platforms are supported at
    this time.
Also check to see if your current version of the SAPGUI matches the
system version. Normally, a GUI with the same system release number or
higher must be used. This means, for example, that with system release
4.0B you can work with SAPgui versions 4.0B, 4.5A, and so on.
Exception: The 4.0A version of the SAPscript PC editor must be used
together with the SAPgui 4.0A. Newer versions of the SAPgui may not be
    used in this particular case.
Be aware that you generally cannot access a system with release status
    4.5A using the SAPgui 4.0B.
If the system file installation is terminated, close all other
applications and restart the PC editor. The system files are
reinstalled if any are missing or older versions of them exist. For
testing purposes, you can call the PC editor directly by choosing Tools
-> SAPscript -> Standard text (Transaction SO10), that is,
    independently of the application transactions.
There may also be an error in the Windows NT registry. If this is the
case, contact your PC system administrator.
