You tried to select a line in a table using a function key or the
mouse, without having positioned the cursor on a table field in this
line.

The selection is ignored.

How to fix this error?

Position the cursor on a table field in the required line before you
make the selection. Take care that the cursor is not in the space
between two table fields.
