SV177
- Data record contains fix value from BC Set and cannot be deleted ?The SAP error message SV177 indicates that a data record contains a fixed value from a Business Configuration Set (BC Set) and cannot be deleted. This typically occurs when you attempt to delete or modify a configuration that is part of a BC Set, which is designed to maintain certain settings in a fixed state to ensure system integrity.
Cause:
- Fixed Values in BC Set: The data record you are trying to delete is part of a BC Set that has fixed values. BC Sets are used to transport configuration settings between systems and ensure that certain configurations remain unchanged.
- System Integrity: The system prevents the deletion of these records to maintain the integrity of the configuration and avoid inconsistencies.
Solution:
- Check BC Set Assignment: Determine if the data record is indeed part of a BC Set. You can do this by checking the configuration settings in the relevant transaction (e.g., SPRO).
- Modify BC Set: If you need to change or delete the record, you may need to modify the BC Set itself. This can involve:
- Unassigning the Record: If possible, unassign the record from the BC Set.
- Changing the BC Set: If you have the necessary authorizations, you can change the BC Set to allow for modifications.
- Consult Documentation: Review the documentation related to the specific BC Set to understand its purpose and the implications of modifying it.
