    System Response

The planning delivery schedule instruction is set up in such a way that
planning delivery schedules are automatically created.
Because of this, the planning delivery schedule was not copied from the
source scheduling agreement item. The planning delivery schedule of the
new scheduling agreement item is created based on the last forecast
delivery schedule. You may have lost all manual changes or adjustments
that were made to the planning delivery schedule of the source
    scheduling agreement item.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message SACO062 - New PDS created: you may have lost manual changes made to the original ?

The SAP error message SACO062 indicates that a new Production Data Structure (PDS) has been created, and as a result, any manual changes made to the original PDS may have been lost. This typically occurs in the context of SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) or SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) when changes are made to the planning data.

    Cause:

    1. Creation of New PDS: The system automatically generates a new PDS when there are changes in the master data or when a new planning version is created. This can happen during the planning process or when data is imported.
    2. Manual Changes: If users have made manual adjustments to the original PDS, these changes may not be carried over to the new PDS, leading to potential data loss.
    3. Data Synchronization Issues: If there are discrepancies between the master data and the PDS, the system may create a new PDS to ensure data integrity.

    Solution:

    1. Review Changes: Check the changes made to the original PDS before the new one was created. If possible, document these changes to ensure they can be reapplied if necessary.
    2. Manual Reapplication: If manual changes are critical, you may need to manually reapply them to the new PDS after it has been created.
    3. Data Management: Ensure that data management practices are in place to minimize the risk of losing manual changes. This includes regular backups and version control.
    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling PDS changes and best practices for managing manual adjustments.
    5. System Configuration: Review the configuration settings in your SAP system to understand how PDS are generated and whether there are options to prevent the loss of manual changes.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide additional guidance on managing PDS.
    • Training and Documentation: Ensure that users involved in planning and data management are trained on the implications of creating new PDS and the importance of documenting manual changes.
    • Version Control: Implement a version control system for PDS to track changes and facilitate easier recovery of manual adjustments.
    • Collaboration with IT: Work with your IT department or SAP support team to address any underlying issues that may lead to frequent creation of new PDS.

By understanding the cause of the SACO062 error and implementing the suggested solutions, you can mitigate the risk of losing important manual changes in your SAP environment.
