RSOS107
- Perform initial indexing for activated object ?The SAP error message RSOS107, which states "Perform initial indexing for activated object," typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP HANA when there is a need to perform initial indexing for an activated object, such as an InfoObject, InfoProvider, or a DataStore Object (DSO).
Cause:
The error usually arises due to one of the following reasons:
- Object Activation: The object you are trying to use has been activated, but the initial indexing has not been performed. This is necessary for the system to create the necessary data structures for efficient querying.
- Data Loading: If data has been loaded into the object but the indexing has not been completed, the system will not be able to access the data properly.
- System Configuration: There may be issues with the configuration of the BW system or the specific object that is causing the indexing to fail or not be performed.
Solution:
To resolve the RSOS107 error, you can follow these steps:
Perform Initial Indexing:
- Go to the transaction code
RSA1
(Data Warehousing Workbench).- Navigate to the relevant InfoProvider or DataStore Object.
- Right-click on the object and select "Manage" or "Indexing" (the exact option may vary based on the object type).
- Choose the option to perform initial indexing. This will create the necessary indexes for the object.
Check Data Load:
- Ensure that the data load process has been completed successfully. If there are any errors in the data load, resolve those first.
- You can check the data load status in the
Monitor
orData Load
section of the Data Warehousing Workbench.Re-activate the Object:
- If the above steps do not resolve the issue, try re-activating the object. Sometimes, re-activation can trigger the necessary processes to complete indexing.
Check for Errors:
- Review the logs for any errors that may have occurred during the activation or indexing process. This can provide insights into what might be going wrong.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific object type you are working with for any additional steps or considerations.
System Administration:
- If you are still facing issues, it may be necessary to involve your SAP Basis or BW administrator to check for system-level issues or configurations that may be affecting indexing.
