  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSO858 - &1 &2: Dependant objects are not subject to recording in requests ?

The SAP error message RSO858 typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when you are trying to transport or manage objects that have dependencies, but those dependent objects are not included in the transport request. This can happen during the process of transporting InfoObjects, InfoProviders, or other BW objects.

    Cause:

The error message RSO858 indicates that there are dependent objects associated with the main object you are trying to transport, but these dependent objects are not included in the transport request. This can occur for several reasons:

    1. Missing Dependencies: The dependent objects (like InfoObjects, DSO, or other BW objects) are not included in the transport request.
    2. Incorrect Transport Settings: The transport settings may not be configured correctly to include dependent objects.
    3. Object Status: The dependent objects may be in a status that prevents them from being included in the transport request.

    Solution:

To resolve the RSO858 error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Dependencies: Identify the dependent objects that are causing the issue. You can do this by checking the object in the SAP BW modeling tools or transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench).

    2. Include Dependent Objects: Ensure that all dependent objects are included in the transport request. You can do this by:

      • Manually adding the dependent objects to the transport request.
      • Using the "Include Objects" functionality in the transport request to automatically include all dependencies.
    3. Review Transport Settings: Check the transport settings in the SAP system to ensure that they are configured to include dependent objects. This may involve reviewing the transport layer settings.

    4. Check Object Status: Ensure that the dependent objects are in a status that allows them to be transported. If they are in a development status, they should be transportable.

    5. Recreate Transport Request: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider recreating the transport request and ensuring that all necessary objects are included from the start.

    6. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to transport management and object dependencies for additional guidance.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench), SE09 (Transport Organizer), and SE10 (Transport Organizer for Requests).
