  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSCRT385 - DTP &1 of DataSource &2 for InfoProvider &3 is not assigned ?

The SAP error message RSCRT385 indicates that a Data Transfer Process (DTP) is not assigned to a specific DataSource for a given InfoProvider. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when you are trying to execute a DTP that is not properly configured or linked to the DataSource.

    Cause:

    1. Unassigned DTP: The DTP you are trying to execute is not assigned to the specified DataSource.
    2. Configuration Issues: There may be issues in the configuration of the DTP or the DataSource itself.
    3. Transport Issues: If the DTP was transported from another system, it may not have been properly assigned in the target system.
    4. Deleted or Inactive DataSource: The DataSource might have been deleted or is currently inactive.

    Solution:

    1. Check DTP Assignment:

      • Go to the DTP in the SAP BW system and check if it is correctly assigned to the DataSource.
      • You can do this by navigating to the DTP in the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction code: RSA1) and checking the settings.
    2. Reassign the DTP:

      • If the DTP is not assigned, you can assign it to the DataSource by editing the DTP settings.
      • Ensure that the DataSource is active and properly configured.
    3. Check DataSource Status:

      • Verify that the DataSource is active. You can check this in the DataSource maintenance area (transaction code: RSA1).
      • If the DataSource is inactive, activate it.
    4. Review Transport Requests:

      • If the DTP was transported, ensure that all related objects (like the DataSource) were also transported correctly.
      • Check for any missing objects in the transport request.
    5. Recreate DTP:

      • If the issue persists, consider recreating the DTP from scratch and ensuring that it is properly linked to the DataSource.
    6. Check for Notes and Patches:

      • Look for any SAP Notes or patches that might address this specific issue, as there may be known bugs or fixes available.
