Message class: RODPS - Operation Data Provider
Message number: 104
Message text: Hierarchy element ID &1: Component &2 is missing from the semantic key
During direct access to a hierarchy, a hierarchy element was processed
with an invalid master data reference. The hierarchy element has element
ID &v1&. The master data reference should be created using component
&v2& of the semantic key. The semantic key does not contain component
&v2& however.
It could be that component &v2& was not added to the semantic key when
the hierarchy ODP was modeled or that the element table returned by the
hierarchy extractor contains invalid values in component FIELDNM.
If the source for the hierarchy is a hierarchy DataSource, you can check
the consistency of the hierarchy with the extractor checker (transaction
<DS:TRAN.RSA3>RSA3</>).
The hierarchy access has been terminated.
Make sure that the hierarchy is modeled correctly and that the
application with the modeling provides consistent data for the hierarchy
elements.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RODPS104
- Hierarchy element ID &1: Component &2 is missing from the semantic key ?The SAP error message RODPS104 indicates that there is a problem with a hierarchy element in the context of a data extraction or reporting process. Specifically, it states that a component (identified by &2) is missing from the semantic key for the hierarchy element (identified by &1). This typically occurs in scenarios involving SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP HANA when dealing with data models that include hierarchies.
Cause:
- Missing Component: The error usually arises when the hierarchy element is expected to have a certain component as part of its semantic key, but that component is not present in the data model or the data being processed.
- Data Model Changes: If there have been recent changes to the data model, such as modifications to the hierarchy structure or the underlying data source, it may lead to inconsistencies.
- Incorrect Configuration: The configuration of the hierarchy or the semantic key may not be set up correctly, leading to missing components.
- Data Inconsistencies: There may be inconsistencies in the data being loaded or processed, such as missing records or incorrect mappings.
Solution:
- Check Hierarchy Configuration: Review the configuration of the hierarchy in the data model. Ensure that all required components are defined and correctly mapped.
- Validate Data Source: Ensure that the data source being used for the extraction or reporting contains all necessary fields and that they are populated correctly.
- Update Semantic Key: If the hierarchy has been modified, update the semantic key to include the missing component. This may involve adjusting the data model or the extraction logic.
- Data Consistency Check: Perform a consistency check on the data to ensure that all required records are present and correctly formatted.
- Reprocess Data: If changes are made, reprocess the data extraction or reporting to see if the error persists.
