Message number: 103
Message text: Units of characteristic &1 and nutrient &2 have different dimensions
When you assign a nutrient to a characteristic, the unit of the
characteristic and the unit of the nutrient have to belong to the same
dimension.
Example:
Unit of characteristic = mg, unit of nutrient = g ->
permitted, since both
units belong to the <zk>Mass</> dimension.
Unit of characteristic = ml, unit of nutrient = g -> not permitted,
since the units belong to different dimensions.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Check the unit of the characteristic and of the nutrient and adjust them
if necessary.

RMXTTLS103
- Units of characteristic &1 and nutrient &2 have different dimensions ?The SAP error message RMXTTLS103 indicates that there is a mismatch in the units of measurement for a characteristic and a nutrient in the context of a recipe or a product specification. This typically occurs in the SAP Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) modules, particularly when dealing with recipes, specifications, or material master data.
Cause:
The error arises when:
- The unit of measurement (UoM) for a characteristic (e.g., a property of a material) does not match the unit of measurement for a nutrient (e.g., a component of a recipe).
- The dimensions of the units are incompatible, such as comparing mass (grams) with volume (liters) without a proper conversion or context.
- There may be a configuration issue in the material master or recipe setup where the units are not aligned.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:
Check the Units of Measurement:
- Go to the material master or recipe where the error is occurring.
- Verify the units of measurement for both the characteristic and the nutrient.
- Ensure that they are compatible. For example, if one is in grams, the other should also be in a mass-related unit.
Adjust the Configuration:
- If the units are not compatible, you may need to adjust the configuration in the material master or recipe.
- You can change the unit of measurement for either the characteristic or the nutrient to ensure they match.
Use Conversion Factors:
- If necessary, apply conversion factors to ensure that the units can be compared correctly. For example, if you are dealing with density, ensure that the mass and volume units are appropriately converted.
Review Customizations:
- If your organization has custom developments or enhancements, review them to ensure they are not causing the mismatch.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on handling units of measurement in your version of SAP.
Testing:
- After making changes, test the recipe or material specification to ensure that the error is resolved.
Related Information:
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the RMXTTLS103 error and ensure that your characteristics and nutrients are correctly aligned in terms of their units of measurement.
