Message text: Note the namespace for cross-user output layouts
INCLUDE RMS_OUTPUT_CHARACTERS OBJECT DOKU ID TX
<ZH>Note:</>
1DEFAULT is a generated layout. Because it is not shipped by SAP, it
cannot be called up as you require. This layout is generated to enable
an output even if no layout is available.
The system automatically enters a forward slash (/) as the first
character in the layout name.
To create a user-specific layout instead of using a cross-user layout:
Delete the forward slash (/).
Enter a letter (A-Z) as the first character.
Set the <LS>User-Specific</> indicator.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Note the namespace for cross-user output layouts ?The SAP error message RMST1607 typically relates to issues with cross-user output layouts in the SAP system, particularly in the context of SAP Smart Forms or SAPscript. This error indicates that there is a problem with the namespace of the output layout being used, which can occur when the layout is not properly defined or is not accessible to the user trying to execute it.
Cause:
- Namespace Issues: The output layout may be defined in a namespace that is not accessible to the user. This can happen if the layout is created in a different client or if the user does not have the necessary authorizations.
- Missing Layout: The specified output layout may not exist or may have been deleted.
- Transport Issues: If the layout was transported from one system to another, there may be issues with the transport that prevent the layout from being recognized.
- User Authorizations: The user may not have the required authorizations to access the output layout.
Solution:
- Check Layout Existence: Verify that the output layout exists in the system. You can do this by navigating to the relevant transaction (e.g., SMARTFORMS for Smart Forms) and checking if the layout is listed.
- Namespace Verification: Ensure that the layout is in the correct namespace and that the user has access to it. If the layout is in a custom namespace, make sure that the user has the necessary authorizations to access that namespace.
- Authorization Check: Review the user’s authorizations to ensure they have the necessary permissions to access the output layout. This may involve checking roles and profiles assigned to the user.
- Transport Check: If the layout was recently transported, check the transport logs for any errors or issues that may have occurred during the transport process.
- Recreate Layout: If the layout is missing or corrupted, consider recreating it or restoring it from a backup if available.
