Message class: RH - BW: Hierarchies ( basic functions )
Message number: 094
Message text: The hierarchy contains multiple root node (Only one is displayed)
The hierarchy contains multiple root nodes.
Because hierarchies can only be displayed with one root node in the
hierarchy simulation, the system only displays the first root node with
its subtree. However, the correctness check is only carried out for the
whole hierarchy.
If errors occur in the parts of the hierarchy that are not displayed,
use the preview dialog, in which the system displays the whole
hierarchy in a list, to analyze the error. If you cannot see the error
in this way, individually load the root nodes with their subtrees so
that you can analyze errors in the individual subtrees.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RH094
- The hierarchy contains multiple root node (Only one is displayed) ?The SAP error message RH094, which states "The hierarchy contains multiple root nodes (Only one is displayed)," typically occurs in the context of SAP HR (Human Resources) when dealing with organizational structures or reporting hierarchies. This error indicates that the system has detected multiple root nodes in the hierarchy, which is not allowed because a hierarchy should have a single root node.
Cause:
- Multiple Root Nodes: The primary cause of this error is that the hierarchy being processed has more than one root node. In a valid hierarchy, there should only be one top-level node from which all other nodes branch out.
- Incorrect Configuration: This can happen due to incorrect configuration of the organizational structure or hierarchy settings in the SAP system.
- Data Integrity Issues: There may be data integrity issues where nodes are incorrectly linked or not properly defined.
Solution:
- Check Hierarchy Structure: Review the hierarchy structure in the SAP system to identify the nodes that are defined as root nodes. Ensure that there is only one root node.
- Adjust Organizational Units: If multiple root nodes are found, you may need to adjust the organizational units or the hierarchy settings to consolidate them under a single root node.
- Use Transaction Codes: Utilize relevant transaction codes such as OOCU (for organizational units) or OOSB (for structure display) to analyze and modify the hierarchy.
- Data Cleanup: If there are inconsistencies in the data, perform a cleanup to ensure that all nodes are correctly linked and that there are no orphan nodes.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on managing organizational hierarchies.
