The SAP error message REXCJP335 indicates that there is a missing start or end reading for a meter that is assigned to a specific object (like a contract or a location) for a given period. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP's IS-U (Industry Solution for Utilities) module, which is used for managing utility services such as electricity, water, and gas.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Readings: The primary cause of this error is that the system cannot find the required start or end meter readings for the specified period. This could be due to:

      • Readings not being recorded or entered into the system.
      • Readings being deleted or not saved properly.
      • Incorrect configuration or assignment of the meter to the contract or location.
    2. Incorrect Period: The specified period may not have valid readings associated with it, either because the readings were not taken or because they fall outside the expected range.

    3. Data Inconsistencies: There may be inconsistencies in the data related to the meter, such as incorrect assignments or missing master data.

    Solution:

    1. Check Meter Readings: Verify that the start and end readings for the specified meter and period exist in the system. You can do this by:

      • Navigating to the relevant transaction (e.g., transaction code EL31 for meter reading documents).
      • Checking the meter reading history for the specific meter.
    2. Enter Missing Readings: If readings are missing, you will need to enter them manually. This can be done through the appropriate transaction for entering meter readings.

    3. Review Assignments: Ensure that the meter is correctly assigned to the relevant contract or location. Check the master data for the meter and the contract to confirm that they are linked properly.

    4. Data Consistency Checks: Run data consistency checks to identify any discrepancies in the meter data. This can help in identifying any other underlying issues that may be causing the error.

    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling meter readings and resolving related errors.
