Message text: Higher-level object of &1 is not uniquely assigned (&2)
You want to assign usage object &V1& to an architectural object. However
the usage object has not yet been assigned uniquely to a higher-level
object within the assignment period.
The system does not allow you to save the changes.
Make one of the following changes:
A higher-level object has not been uniquely assigned within the
assignment period (&V2&). Correct the assignment period.
The assignment within the architectural hierarchy is not unique. You may
experience this, for example, if a pooled space is to be assigned to the
architectural view and the buildings for the pooled space have either
not been assigned to an architectural hierarchy or have been assigned to
a different one. First assign the higher-level object for the usage
object to the higher-level object for the architectural object that you
want to assign.
Undo the assignment in the architectural object, and process the periods
and hierarchies relating to the usage objects.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

REBDCA008
- Higher-level object of &1 is not uniquely assigned (&2) ?The SAP error message REBDCA008 indicates that there is an issue with the assignment of a higher-level object in the context of a cost object or a project. Specifically, it means that the higher-level object (e.g., a project or order) is not uniquely assigned to the lower-level object (e.g., a cost center or internal order). This can occur in various SAP modules, particularly in Controlling (CO) and Project System (PS).
Cause:
- Duplicate Assignments: The higher-level object is assigned to multiple lower-level objects, leading to ambiguity in the assignment.
- Configuration Issues: There may be issues in the configuration of the cost object hierarchy or the assignment rules.
- Data Integrity Issues: There could be inconsistencies in the master data or transaction data that lead to this error.
Solution:
Check Assignments: Review the assignments of the higher-level object to ensure that it is uniquely assigned to the lower-level object. You can do this by navigating to the relevant transaction (e.g., CJ20N for project management) and checking the structure.
Correct Configuration: If the issue is due to configuration, you may need to adjust the settings in the Customizing (SPRO) to ensure that the assignment rules are correctly defined.
Data Cleanup: If there are duplicate entries or inconsistencies in the master data, you may need to clean up the data. This could involve deleting or merging duplicate records.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific module you are working with for any additional guidance or known issues.
Contact Support: If the issue persists after checking the above points, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance.
