  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message PU745 - Target system &1.&2 rejects calls from system &3.&4 ?

The SAP error message PU745 indicates that the target system is rejecting calls from the source system. This typically occurs in scenarios involving remote function calls (RFC) or when trying to access a system via a connection that has not been properly configured or authorized.

    Cause:

    1. Authorization Issues: The user or system trying to make the call does not have the necessary authorizations in the target system.
    2. Connection Configuration: The RFC destination may not be correctly configured, or the target system may not be set up to accept calls from the source system.
    3. Network Issues: There may be network problems preventing the source system from reaching the target system.
    4. System Status: The target system may be in a state that does not allow it to accept calls (e.g., it may be down for maintenance).
    5. Client-Specific Settings: The target system may have client-specific settings that restrict access from certain clients or systems.

    Solution:

    1. Check Authorizations: Ensure that the user or system making the call has the necessary authorizations in the target system. This can be done by checking user roles and profiles.
    2. Verify RFC Destination: Go to transaction SM59 in the source system and check the configuration of the RFC destination pointing to the target system. Ensure that the connection type, target host, and system number are correct.
    3. Test Connection: Use the "Connection Test" feature in SM59 to verify that the connection to the target system is working properly.
    4. Check System Status: Ensure that the target system is up and running and is not in a maintenance mode or down for any reason.
    5. Review Network Configuration: Check for any network issues that might be preventing communication between the two systems. This may involve checking firewalls, VPNs, or other network configurations.
    6. Client-Specific Settings: If applicable, review any client-specific settings in the target system that may restrict access.
