Message text: Sum of proportions of markers = &1, i.e. not 1.0 for date &2
You can determine markers for the COVER table on the PC cluster for
each day for the refinement of absences. Markers can also be defined
for partial-day absences. These markers are determined using the
country enhancement HR_COV_DETERMINE_MARK_?? (where "??" stands for the
country grouping) or the relevant customer enhancement. Because more
than one marker can be stored for one day, you can specify for the
marker the proportion that the marker has on the corresponding day.
If only one marker is assigned for one day or one partial-day absence,
the proportion of the marker on this day is implicitly 1.0, since it is
to be valid for the entire day. In the current case, you assigned
several markers with proportions, whereby the sum of all proportions is
not equal to 1.0. This will lead to an incorrect result from a business
point of view. It is also possible that only one marker was assigned
for an absence but the value of the proportion is not equal to 1.0.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
The total of all proportions assigned for a day is not equal to 1.0.
Check in the country enhancement HR_COV_DETERMINE_MARK_?? (where "??"
stands for the country grouping) or in the corresponding customer
enhancement why a value was attained that does not make sense from a
business point of view. The algorithm implemented may have to be
corrected to obtain a result that makes sense.

P2787
- Sum of proportions of markers = &1, i.e. not 1.0 for date &2 ?The SAP error message P2787 indicates that the sum of proportions of markers does not equal 1.0 for a specific date. This error typically arises in the context of SAP's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or similar modules where marker proportions are used for calculations related to product variants, configurations, or other scenarios involving multiple components.
Cause:
The error occurs when the total of the proportions assigned to different markers (which could represent different product features, options, or configurations) does not add up to 100% (or 1.0 in decimal form). This can happen due to:
- Incorrect Data Entry: The proportions for the markers may have been entered incorrectly, leading to a total that does not equal 1.0.
- Missing Markers: Some markers may not have been assigned a proportion, which can lead to an incomplete total.
- Calculation Errors: If the proportions are calculated based on other data, there may be an error in the underlying calculations or data sources.
- Configuration Issues: There may be issues with how the markers are configured in the system.
Solution:
To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:
- Review Marker Proportions: Check the proportions assigned to each marker for the specified date. Ensure that they add up to 1.0 (or 100%).
- Correct Data Entry: If you find any discrepancies, correct the proportions so that their sum equals 1.0.
- Add Missing Markers: If any markers are missing proportions, assign appropriate values to them.
- Validate Calculations: If the proportions are derived from calculations, verify the source data and the logic used to calculate the proportions.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or guidelines related to marker configuration and proportions to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Test Changes: After making adjustments, test the changes to ensure that the error is resolved and that the system behaves as expected.
