What causes this issue?

This message informs you that you are attempting to edit a schema
which only exists in the standard version delivered by SAP.
There is a modification concept for schemas. If you make changes and
save them, you will only be able to see and edit this modified version
of the schema in future. If SAP then delivers an update or a new
Release, you will have to run a comparison of the modified schema
and the standard schema.
