In the Software Delivery Assembler (SDA) on the SDC tab, you attempted
to import the delivery attributes for a package that was created with
the Software Delivery Composer (SDC). The system detected that the

The SAP error message OT117, which states "Extended attribute COMP_TYPE defined differently," typically occurs when there is a mismatch in the definition of an extended attribute (in this case, COMP_TYPE) across different contexts or systems. This can happen in various scenarios, such as when working with data models, data elements, or when integrating different systems.

    Cause:

    1. Inconsistent Definitions: The COMP_TYPE attribute may be defined differently in different parts of the system or in different systems. For example, it might have different data types, lengths, or other properties.
    2. Transport Issues: If changes were transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), and the definitions were not consistent, this error can occur.
    3. Custom Development: If there are custom developments or modifications that involve the COMP_TYPE attribute, inconsistencies can arise if they are not properly synchronized.

    Solution:

    1. Check Definitions: Review the definition of the COMP_TYPE attribute in all relevant contexts (e.g., data elements, structures, tables) to ensure they are consistent across the system.
    2. Synchronize Changes: If the attribute has been modified, ensure that all systems (development, quality assurance, production) have the same definition. This may involve re-transporting the changes or manually updating the definitions.
    3. Use Data Dictionary Tools: Utilize SAP's data dictionary tools (SE11, SE80) to compare the definitions of the COMP_TYPE attribute across different objects and systems.
    4. Check for Custom Code: If there is custom code that references COMP_TYPE, ensure that it is compatible with the current definition. Update the code if necessary.
    5. Consult Documentation: Review any relevant documentation or change logs to understand how the COMP_TYPE attribute was defined and modified over time.
