Message type: E = Error
Message class: O3 - IS-Oil: HPM messages (goods movements, QCI, deliveries)
Message number: 233
Message text: QCI: No unit with a dimension ID "dimensionless" was found
The system tried to retrieve one unit of measure with the
"dimensionless" dimension, but not one unit has been maintained in
table T006. The Quantity Conversion Interface (QCI) requires this
information to check the correctness of the unit of measure that you
input.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Maintain at least one UoM with the "dimensionless" dimension.

O3233
- QCI: No unit with a dimension ID "dimensionless" was found ?The SAP error message O3233, which states "QCI: No unit with a dimension ID 'dimensionless' was found," typically occurs in the context of Quality Management (QM) or when dealing with characteristics in SAP that require specific units of measure. This error indicates that the system is unable to find a unit of measure that corresponds to the specified dimension ID, which in this case is "dimensionless."
Cause:
- Missing Unit of Measure: The most common cause of this error is that there is no unit of measure defined in the system for the dimension ID "dimensionless." This can happen if the unit of measure has not been created or has been deleted.
- Configuration Issues: There may be issues in the configuration of the characteristics or the quality inspection plans that reference this dimension.
- Data Inconsistencies: There could be inconsistencies in the data where the characteristic is expected to have a unit of measure but is not properly linked to one.
Solution:
Check Unit of Measure Configuration:
- Go to the transaction code
CUNI
(Maintain Units of Measure) in SAP.- Verify if there is a unit of measure defined for "dimensionless." If not, you may need to create it.
- Ensure that the unit of measure is correctly configured and active.
Review Characteristics and Inspection Plans:
- Check the characteristics that are being used in the quality inspection plan. Ensure that they are correctly defined and linked to the appropriate units of measure.
- Use transaction code
QS22
to review and modify the inspection plans if necessary.Create or Modify Characteristics:
- If the characteristic is supposed to be dimensionless, ensure that it is set up correctly in the characteristic definition. You can do this using transaction code
CT04
(Create Characteristic).- Make sure that the characteristic does not require a unit of measure if it is truly dimensionless.
Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the configuration or the expected behavior, refer to SAP documentation or consult with your SAP QM functional consultant for guidance.
Testing: After making the necessary changes, perform a test to ensure that the error no longer occurs and that the quality inspection process works as expected.
Related Information:
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the O3233 error and ensure that your quality management processes function correctly.
