  • What causes this issue?

    <DS:GLOS.3526BB80AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>Cross-docking</> has been
    entered as the <DS:GLOS.352A8D46D3895CD5E10000009B38F974>processing
method</> for distribution center &V2&. The system determined an order
unit for the distribution center without optimizing the quantities and
    rounding off to logistics units.
In this allocation table item, there is at least one plant that orders
a different unit from the distribution center (i.e. warehouse orders or
deliveries are generated in a different unit).
With cross-docking, the order units must be the same for the
distribution center and the plants. Only then can cross-docking be
    guaranteed at goods receipt.

    How to fix this error?

If you want to cross-dock, you must ensure that when master data is
entered, the unit in which the distribution center orders with the
vendor is the same as the unit in which the plants order with the
distribution center (i.e. it is the same as the unit of issue).

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message MW433 - & &: In cross-docking items, units of measure do not match ?

The SAP error message MW433 indicates that there is a mismatch in the units of measure (UoM) for items involved in cross-docking. This typically occurs when the system is trying to process a cross-docking operation, but the units of measure for the incoming stock and the outgoing stock do not align.

    Cause:

    1. Different Units of Measure: The incoming stock might be in a different unit of measure than what is expected for the outgoing stock. For example, if the incoming stock is in "pieces" and the outgoing stock is expected in "boxes," this mismatch will trigger the error.
    2. Configuration Issues: The configuration settings in the material master or the cross-docking setup may not be correctly defined, leading to discrepancies in UoM.
    3. Data Entry Errors: Manual entry errors during the creation of the delivery or during the cross-docking process can lead to mismatched units of measure.
    4. Material Master Settings: The material master may not have the correct UoM settings for the specific material being processed.

    Solution:

    1. Check Material Master: Verify the units of measure defined in the material master for the relevant materials. Ensure that the base unit of measure and alternative units of measure are correctly set up.
    2. Review Cross-Docking Settings: Check the cross-docking configuration in the system to ensure that it allows for the correct UoM conversions and that the settings are aligned with the business process.
    3. Adjust Incoming and Outgoing UoM: If possible, adjust the incoming or outgoing units of measure to match. This may involve changing the delivery or the stock type.
    4. Use Conversion Factors: If the business process allows, use conversion factors to convert between different units of measure. Ensure that these conversions are correctly defined in the system.
    5. Data Entry Verification: Ensure that all data entries related to the cross-docking process are accurate and consistent. This includes checking the delivery documents and any related transactions.
    6. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling UoM issues in cross-docking scenarios.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You may need to use transaction codes like MM03 (Display Material), VL01N (Create Outbound Delivery), or VL02N (Change Outbound Delivery) to check and modify relevant data.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address known issues or provide additional guidance on handling UoM mismatches in cross-docking.
    • User Exits and BAdIs: If custom logic is required, consider implementing user exits or Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) to handle specific UoM conversion scenarios.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the cause of the MW433 error and implement a solution to resolve the issue.
