Message text: Inconsistent parameter effectivity
The network?s parameter effectivity was changed after the previous BOM
explosion. This could have been an attempt to reassign a network to a
more important model and unit.
The parameter effectivity in a network defines which end-item unit is
manufactured by the network. Parameter effectivity in the BOM defines
exceptions for individual end-item units. Parameter effectivity in the
BOM and in the network must match to ensure that the correct BOM items
are selected for an end-item.
Perform one of the following steps:
Re-explode the current BOM version, either in this app or by using
transaction <AB>CN33_N</>, to finalize the reassignment of the network.
Change the model and unit in the network using transaction <AB>CJ20N</>
to reverse the network reassignment.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

MPE_INSTALLATION_MSG019
- Inconsistent parameter effectivity ?The SAP error message MPE_INSTALLATION_MSG019 indicates that there is an inconsistency in the parameter effectivity within the system. This typically occurs in the context of managing product configurations, where certain parameters or settings are expected to be valid for specific time periods or conditions, but the data does not align correctly.
Cause:
- Data Inconsistency: The most common cause is that the effectivity dates or conditions for parameters are overlapping or not properly defined. For example, two parameters might be set to be effective at the same time, leading to a conflict.
- Configuration Errors: Errors in the configuration of the product or the parameters themselves can lead to this inconsistency. This might include incorrect settings in the configuration profiles or master data.
- Missing Data: Required data for certain parameters may be missing, leading to an inability to determine the correct effectivity.
Solution:
- Review Parameter Settings: Check the settings for the parameters involved in the error. Ensure that the effectivity dates do not overlap and that they are correctly defined.
- Check Configuration Profiles: Review the configuration profiles and ensure that all parameters are correctly set up and that there are no conflicts.
- Data Consistency Check: Run a consistency check on the relevant master data to identify any discrepancies or missing information.
- Adjust Effectivity: If you find overlapping effectivity periods, adjust them to ensure that each parameter has a unique and valid effectivity period.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on managing parameter effectivity in your version of SAP.
