Message type: E = Error
Message class: MN - Message class for subsequent settlement (Purchasing)
Message number: 580
Message text: Not poss. to update busn. vols. f. reb. arr. & (fin. sett. alr. effected)
Settlement accounting has already been carried out with respect to
rebate arrangement &V1& (rebate arrangement requiring periodic partial
settlement).
Since there is no provision for any further settlement accounting with
regard to this rebate arrangement, no supplier business volume data can
be updated.
Check whether the supplier business volume is to be taken into account.
If so, cancel the settlement document(s) for the relevant update period
and final settlement. This will cause the status of the rebate
arrangement and the period condition record to be reset.
Update the cumulative business volume data retrospectively using one of
the functions provided for the purpose.
Using the relevant functions/reports, check whether there are any
further open transactions (purchase orders, goods receipts, supplier
invoices).

MN580
- Not poss. to update busn. vols. f. reb. arr. & (fin. sett. alr. effected) ?The SAP error message MN580 indicates that there is an issue with updating business volumes for rebate arrangements, specifically when financial settlement has already been affected. This error typically arises in the context of rebate processing in SAP, where the system is unable to update the business volumes due to the financial settlement being already processed.
Cause:
- Financial Settlement Already Processed: The primary cause of this error is that the financial settlement for the rebate arrangement has already been executed. Once a settlement is processed, the system locks the business volumes to prevent further changes.
- Incorrect Status: The rebate arrangement may be in a status that does not allow for updates to business volumes.
- Data Inconsistencies: There may be inconsistencies in the data related to the rebate arrangement or the business volumes that are preventing the update.
Solution:
- Check Settlement Status: Verify if the financial settlement has indeed been processed. If it has, you will not be able to update the business volumes for that rebate arrangement.
- Review Rebate Arrangement: Check the status of the rebate arrangement. If it is in a status that does not allow updates, you may need to change the status or create a new rebate arrangement.
- Consult with Finance Team: If the settlement has been processed and you need to make changes, consult with your finance team to understand the implications and whether a reversal or adjustment is possible.
- Use Transaction Codes: Utilize transaction codes like
