What causes this issue?

You want to pass on material data to Demand Management, but you want
this data to be determined via the product group to which the material
belongs rather than directly via the material itself.
Either this product group does not exist or it cannot be uniquely
determined. In the latter case, the material has been assigned to more
than one product group and none of these product groups has been marked
as relevant to MRP.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Check and, if necessary, change the product group you have entered.
Use the reporting function <LS>Material usage</> to find out if the
material is a direct member of more than one product group.
If it is, set the MRP flag for the material in one of the product group
master records.
