  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

In your system there is an active decentralized warehouse, or there are
storage locations with a HU (handling unit) requirement.
When you post this goods movement, this means that a delivery is
    created in the background.
The change to the batch status using movement type 341 or 342 using a
    delivery is not permitted. &SYSTEM_RESPONSE&

    How to fix this error?

If you require this process for business reasons, you must decouple the
two processes for batch status changes and posting changes in a HU
storage location for unrestricted stocks. One way of doing this is to
change the batch status in transaction MSC2N before the usage decision
    is made (QA11).

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message M7462 - Creation of a delivery for movement type & not possible ?

The SAP error message M7462, which states "Creation of a delivery for movement type & not possible," typically occurs in the context of inventory management and logistics when there is an attempt to create a delivery for a movement type that does not allow for delivery creation. This error can arise in various scenarios, such as during goods movements, stock transfers, or when trying to create deliveries for certain types of stock.

    Causes:

    1. Movement Type Restrictions: The movement type being used does not allow for the creation of a delivery. Certain movement types are designated for specific operations and may not be compatible with delivery creation.
    2. Stock Type Issues: The stock type associated with the movement may not be eligible for delivery. For example, stock in quality inspection or blocked stock may not be deliverable.
    3. Configuration Settings: The configuration settings in the system may restrict the creation of deliveries for certain movement types.
    4. Document Flow Issues: There may be issues with the document flow, such as incomplete or incorrect preceding documents (e.g., purchase orders, production orders).
    5. Material Status: The material may have a status that prevents it from being delivered, such as being marked as "not deliverable."

    Solutions:

    1. Check Movement Type: Verify the movement type being used and ensure it is appropriate for the operation you are trying to perform. You can check the movement type configuration in the SAP system (Transaction code: OMJJ).
    2. Review Stock Type: Ensure that the stock type is eligible for delivery. If the stock is in a restricted status (e.g., quality inspection), you may need to change its status or move it to unrestricted stock.
    3. Configuration Review: Consult with your SAP configuration team to review the settings related to movement types and delivery creation. Adjustments may be needed in the configuration to allow for deliveries.
    4. Document Flow Check: Ensure that all preceding documents are complete and correct. If there are issues with related documents, resolve them before attempting to create a delivery.
    5. Material Status Check: Check the material status in the system to ensure it is not marked as "not deliverable." If it is, you may need to change the status or resolve any issues related to the material.
