Message text: Packaging function already executed for TO
One or more items in this <GL:transfer_order>transfer order</> have
already been confirmed and the system has recorded
<GL:packaging>packaging</> data for these items in the corresponding
<GL:delivery>delivery</>. You cannot change <GL:shipping_unit>shipping
unit</> data for TO items that have already been confirmed in WM.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If you want to assign new shipping units, you can define additional
packaging data for the unconfirmed TO items. The system will then
record this information in the corresponding delivery.
If you want to change the packaging data for shipping units that have
already been created, you must edit this information in the delivery in
the SD Shipping function <ls>Change delivery</>.

L3604
- Packaging function already executed for TO ?The SAP error message L3604 ("Packaging function already executed for TO") typically occurs in the context of warehouse management and logistics execution when dealing with transfer orders (TOs) in SAP. This error indicates that the packaging function has already been executed for the specified transfer order, and therefore, it cannot be executed again.
Cause:
- Duplicate Execution: The primary cause of this error is that the packaging function has already been processed for the transfer order. This can happen if the user attempts to re-execute the packaging process without reversing or canceling the previous execution.
- System Configuration: In some cases, system settings or configurations may lead to this error if the system does not allow re-packaging of already processed transfer orders.
- User Error: Users may inadvertently try to package the same transfer order multiple times due to misunderstanding the process flow.
Solution:
- Check Transfer Order Status: Verify the status of the transfer order in question. If the packaging has already been completed, you may need to proceed with other processes related to the transfer order instead of re-packaging.
- Review Packaging History: Look into the packaging history of the transfer order to confirm that the packaging function has indeed been executed. This can help in understanding the current state of the TO.
- Cancel or Reverse Packaging: If there is a need to change the packaging, you may need to cancel or reverse the previous packaging action, if applicable. This can usually be done through the appropriate transaction codes in SAP.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help files for specific instructions on how to handle packaging for transfer orders in your version of SAP.
- Contact Support: If the issue persists and you cannot determine the cause or solution, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting with SAP experts for further assistance.
