  • What causes this issue?

    The system requires a valid <DS:DE.AWVRS>target cost version</> to be
    able to carry out the transaction. For <DS:DE.VERSN>version</> &v1&,
    however, no target cost version has been maintained in
    <DS:DE.KOKRS>controlling area</> &v2&, or the <DS:DE.AWVAR>variance
    variant</> required for <DS:DE.CO_STEP_4>variance calculation</> is
    missing.

    Processing cannot be carried out.

    How to fix this error?

    Proceed as follows to create a target cost version:
    Go to the maintenance transaction of the target cost version.
    Define a <DS:DE.KAGRU>cost element group</> for the
    <DS:DE.CO_STEP_2>first split</>.
    If necessary, maintain a variance variant for variance calculation.

    Solution: Define Target Cost Version: Go to the SAP Easy Access screen. Navigate to Controlling (CO) > Cost Element Accounting > Master Data > Cost Version > Define
