  • What causes this issue?

The "Currency" and "Chart of accounts" (basic data) fields are filled
indirectly when the company code is assigned.
If the fields were blank when the company was assigned, they also
remain blank in the controlling area. If one or both fields are still
blank, the SAP System checks when you maintain the basic data whether
the fields were maintained in the company code in the meantime.
If this is the case, the SAP System checks whether the company codes
assigned to the controlling area all have the same currency and chart
of accounts. If so, the currency and chart of accounts are transferred
to the controlling area. Otherwise, an error message appears referring
to the inconsistency of the assigned company codes.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

In consultation with FI, ensure that the assigned company codes all
have the same currency and chart of accounts.
