Message text: Number range transports are critical! -> note long text
For reasons of data consistency you should generally not transport
number ranges but create them again in the target system.
Run program RKTKA04C to create the required transactions (elements
assigned to groups in number range maintenance) in the target system.
If you select the object "Controlling area/basic data", program
RKTKA04C is run automatically at the end of the import to the target
system. This program runs across all clients and adds the missing
transactions to all clients in the system.
If you need to transport the number ranges, you must take note of the
following:
You must always transport the "Transaction->number range group"
assignment together with the "Intervals and group texts". No number
range groups must exist for the controlling area in the target system/
client. You must run the transport once only.
The transactions (without intervals or groups) can be transported
without problems if no number range groups have been created for the
controlling area in both the source system and the target system.
Transporting "Intervals and groups": the system first deletes all
intervals in the target system so that only the exported intervals
exist after the transport. The number reached in the number range is
transported to the target system. This number cannot be reset.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Decide whether you really need to transport the number ranges.

- Number range transports are critical! -> note long text ?The SAP error message KT227 indicates that there is a critical issue with number range transports. This typically occurs when you are trying to transport number ranges between different SAP systems (e.g., from a development system to a production system) and there are inconsistencies or issues that need to be addressed.
Cause:
- Inconsistent Number Ranges: The number ranges in the source and target systems may not be aligned, leading to potential conflicts or gaps.
- Missing Authorizations: The user performing the transport may not have the necessary authorizations to manage number ranges.
- Transport Configuration Issues: There may be issues with the transport configuration or the transport layer that prevent the number ranges from being correctly transported.
- Custom Development: If there are custom developments that rely on specific number ranges, these may not be properly accounted for in the transport.
Solution:
- Check Number Range Configuration: Verify the number range configuration in both the source and target systems. Ensure that the number ranges are consistent and that there are no overlaps or gaps.
- Review Transport Logs: Check the transport logs for any errors or warnings related to number ranges. This can provide insight into what went wrong during the transport process.
- Adjust Authorizations: Ensure that the user performing the transport has the necessary authorizations to manage number ranges.
- Manual Adjustment: If necessary, manually adjust the number ranges in the target system to match those in the source system.
- Use Transaction SNRO: You can use transaction SNRO (Number Range Objects) to manage and check number ranges. This can help you identify any discrepancies.
- Consult SAP Notes: Look for relevant SAP Notes that may provide additional guidance or solutions for this specific error message.
