  • Message text: Company code and CO area are inconsistent

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

One of the following problems occurred:
    Inconsistent basic data
Currency, chart of accounts and/or number of posting periods do not
match in the controlling area and the assigned company code.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    Changed indicator
You tried to change the indicator for <GL:assignment_control>assignment
control</> from 2 to 1. This is not possible here because the fields
"Currency" (&V3&) and "Chart of accounts" (&V4&) are filled in the
controlling area. You cannot change them because of existing
assignments and account assignment objects (cost centers, orders ...)
By changing the assignment indicator from 2 to 1 you wish to achieve a
1:1 match between the company and the controlling area. In this case
the controlling area must have the same currency (&V1&) and chart of
accounts (&V2&) as the company (of the same name). This error occurred
because you can no longer change the fields "Currency" and "Chart of
    accounts" in the controlling area.
    RESET N1

    How to fix this error?

Depending on the cause you should:
Use error analysis to adjust the controlling area data.
Do not carry out your changes. If, however, they are necessary, you
must check master data, transaction data, and Financial Accounting to
see whether you can change the currency and/or chart of accounts in the
controlling area. If so, deactivate the "Productive" indicator in the
company code, change the controlling area, and activate the indicator
    again.
