  • What causes this issue?

You left receiver characteristic &V2& (&V1&) blank in the
    sender/receiver definition.

    System Response

When you execute the cycle, the system copies the company code,
business area, and profit center from the corresponding sender object
to the receiver object if these characteristics were left blank in the
    sender/receiver definition.
    Example
You choose the company code as a receiver characteristic and define the
    receiver tracing factor as follows:
    Company code Percentage
    <space> 25%
    B003 75%
You define two cost centers - 0001 and 0002 - as the senders. Cost
center 0001 belongs to company code B001, while cost center 0002
    belongs to comapny code B002.
When you execute the cycle, cost center 0001 is distributed as follows:
    25% to company code B001
    75% to company code B003
Cost center 0003 is distributed as follows:
    25% to company code B002
    75% to company code B003

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message KF444 - Value for blank characteristic &1 will be copied from sender object ?

The SAP error message KF444 indicates that a value for a blank characteristic (denoted as &1) is being copied from a sender object, which typically means that the system is trying to derive a value for a characteristic that has not been filled in or is empty. This can occur in various contexts, such as during the execution of a query, report, or data processing in SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence).

    Cause:

    1. Missing Characteristic Value: The characteristic in question is not populated in the data being processed. This can happen if the data source does not provide a value for that characteristic.
    2. Data Model Configuration: The configuration of the InfoObject or the data model may not be set up correctly, leading to missing values.
    3. Data Transfer Issues: There may be issues during data transfer from the source system to the target system, resulting in missing values.
    4. Aggregation or Calculation Logic: If the characteristic is part of an aggregation or calculation, and the logic does not handle blank values properly, this error may arise.

    Solution:

    1. Check Data Source: Verify the data source to ensure that the characteristic is populated correctly. If it is missing, investigate why the data is not being transferred or loaded.
    2. Review Data Model: Check the configuration of the InfoObjects and ensure that all necessary characteristics are defined and populated correctly in the data model.
    3. Data Load Monitoring: Monitor the data load process to identify any errors or warnings that may indicate why the characteristic is blank.
    4. Adjust Query/Report Logic: If the error occurs in a query or report, review the logic to ensure that it can handle cases where the characteristic is blank. You may need to implement default values or alternative logic.
    5. Use Default Values: If appropriate, consider setting default values for the characteristic in the data model or during the data load process to avoid blanks.

    Related Information:
