  • What causes this issue?

The system only creates category &V1& receivers using the maintained
    master data.
    Production orders
    If you create a <DS:GLOS.3526C3D7AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>Production
    order</>, the system generally creates a 100%
    <DS:GLOS.3526B63AAFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>Distribution rule</> to the
    material to be produced.
    If you create <DS:GLOS.3526C4FAAFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>Co-products</>
using the production order, the order header contains distribution
rules with equivalence numbers corresponding to the
    <DS:GLOS.3526B745AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>Apportionment structure</>
(stored in the material master data). During period-end closing in Cost
Object Controlling, you distribute the actual costs for the production
order according to the equivalence figures on the order items. The
items contain 100% rules to Material (in this case, the co-product).
This ensures that each order item settles the costs to the co-product
    that incurred them.
The system creates the distribution rules to ensure that delivery and
settlement go to the same receiver. Changes to this rule are either not
possible or very restricted. The system does not allow for this type
of rule to be manually created.
If the production order is assigned to a
    <DS:GLOS.3526C485AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>Collective order</>, you can
set the <DS:DE.CO_COLORDPRC>Collective order variance</> indicator in
the order type. This determines whether this production order is to be
delivered and settled to Material or to the order above.
    &what_to_do&
If necessary, change the order type.
    Internal orders
You cannot deliver internal orders to the warehouse. This means that it
is also not possible to settle to Material.
    &what_to_do&
For delivery and settlement to the warehouse, use
    <DS:GLOS.3526C388AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>Production orders</>, process
    orders, <DS:GLOS.3526B6AEAFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>Production orders
    without a quantity structure</>, or
    <DS:GLOS.3526B6F2AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>Product cost collectors</>.
    Networks
If you create a network, the system may create a distribution rule with
receiver <LS>sales document</>. You cannot manually create distribution
    rules of this kind.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message KD063 - Distribution rule for & can only be created automatically ?

The SAP error message KD063 indicates that a distribution rule for a particular cost object (represented by the placeholder "&") can only be created automatically. This typically occurs in the context of controlling (CO) when you are trying to manually create or modify a distribution rule for cost centers, internal orders, or other cost objects.

    Cause:

    1. Automatic Creation Requirement: The system is configured to require that distribution rules for certain cost objects be created automatically based on predefined criteria or settings. This is often the case when using certain allocation methods or when the cost object is part of a specific controlling area setup.
    2. Missing Configuration: The necessary configuration for manual distribution might not be set up correctly in the system.
    3. Incorrect Transaction Usage: The transaction or method being used to create or modify the distribution rule may not support manual entry for that specific cost object.

    Solution:

    1. Use Automatic Distribution: Instead of trying to create the distribution rule manually, ensure that you are using the appropriate transaction or process that allows for automatic creation of distribution rules. This may involve running a distribution or assessment cycle that will generate the rules based on the system's configuration.
    2. Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings in the controlling area to ensure that the distribution rules are set up correctly. This may involve checking:
      • The settings in the cost center accounting (CCA) or internal order management.
      • The allocation structure and rules defined in the system.
    3. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on the distribution rules and the requirements for your particular scenario.
    4. Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot find a resolution, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance, especially if this is a critical issue affecting business processes.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as KSV5 (for assessments) or KSV1 (for distribution) that may help in managing distribution rules.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any SAP Notes related to error KD063, as there may be specific patches or updates that address known issues.
    • User Roles and Authorizations: Ensure that the user attempting to create or modify the distribution rule has the necessary authorizations to perform these actions in the system.
