Message text: Dependency quantities have been revaluated
You selected "Revaluate dependency quantity" (or changed a dependency
source quantity) which automatically triggers this revaluation. As a
result, existing database records are revaluated using the current,
valid depedency source quantities.
In this particular case, problems have occurred during the revaluation
and these are displayed in a dialog box.
All other database records were revaluated without errors or problems.
The system did not revaluate the incorrect records.
When you have corrected the source of the errors, you should execute a
manual revaluation immediately. To do so, call up the Planning Initial
Screen and choose Extras -> Dependency planning -> Revaluation

- Dependency quantities have been revaluated ?The SAP error message K8166, which states "Dependency quantities have been revaluated," typically occurs in the context of controlling (CO) and product costing. This error indicates that there is a mismatch or inconsistency in the dependency quantities used in the cost calculation process, often related to the revaluation of costs or quantities in the system.
Cause:
- Revaluation of Quantities: The error usually arises when there are changes in the quantities that are dependent on other cost elements or when the system attempts to revalue these quantities based on new cost estimates or changes in the master data.
- Inconsistent Data: It can also occur due to inconsistencies in the data, such as changes in the material master, cost center, or activity type that affect the dependency quantities.
- Costing Variants: If the costing variant settings are not correctly configured, it may lead to issues in how dependencies are calculated and revaluated.
Solution:
- Check Dependency Settings: Review the dependency settings in the costing variant and ensure that they are correctly configured. This includes checking the settings for cost elements, activity types, and any other relevant parameters.
- Recalculate Costs: If there have been changes in the master data or cost elements, you may need to recalculate the costs. This can be done by running the appropriate costing transaction (e.g., CK11N for cost estimate).
- Review Material Master Data: Ensure that the material master data is consistent and up-to-date. Check for any changes that might have affected the dependency quantities.
- Analyze Logs: Use transaction codes like CKMLCP (for material ledger) or CKM3N (for cost estimates) to analyze logs and identify the specific cause of the error.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to this error message for any specific patches or updates that may address the issue.
