- Interval may only contain either standard periods or special periods ?The SAP error message K7032, which states "Interval may only contain either standard periods or special periods," typically occurs in the context of financial reporting or planning when you are trying to define a time interval that mixes standard periods (like months in a fiscal year) with special periods (like additional periods used for year-end closing).
Cause:
The error arises when you attempt to create a report or execute a transaction that requires a time interval, but the specified interval includes both standard periods and special periods. In SAP, standard periods are the regular months of the fiscal year, while special periods are additional periods used for specific purposes, such as adjustments or closing activities.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you need to ensure that the time interval you are using consists of either only standard periods or only special periods. Here are the steps you can take:
Check the Period Selection: Review the periods you have selected in your report or transaction. Make sure that you are not mixing standard and special periods.
Adjust the Interval: If you need to include special periods, adjust your selection to only include those. Conversely, if you are working with standard periods, ensure that your selection does not include any special periods.
Review Configuration: If you are unsure about the configuration of your fiscal year variant or the definition of standard and special periods, consult with your SAP administrator or financial team to ensure that everything is set up correctly.
Testing: After making the necessary adjustments, re-run the report or transaction to see if the error persists.
