Message text: Caution! You are exporting standard hierarchy &
You want to export a standard hierarchy or import a generated
sequential data set that can consist of a standard hierarchy. Standard
hierarchies can be defined for cost centers, profit centers, and
business processes. Please note the following:
When you export a standard hierarchy, the SAP System breaks it down and
creates a sequential dataset. The single values from the end nodes of
the hierarchy are exported, but the master records for these single
values are not.
When you import a sequential dataset to another client or another
system, any existing data with the same name is overwritten.
To guarantee the standard hierarchy and master data are always
consistent, you should transport them together. To transport the master
data you must use a different function (client copy, transport).
RESET N1
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If the exported standard hierarchy does not exist in the target system,
you only need to transport the corresponding master data. If it does
exist, proceed as follows:
Check whether the master data should also be transported or already
exists in the target system for the relevant controlling area.
Generate a sequential dataset for the standard hierarchy (backup copy)
in the system using the export function.
Export the standard hierarchy in the source system
Import this standard hierarchy in the target system
Check whether the standard hierarchy in the target system is complete.
Use the following functions to do so:
Test standard hierarchy master data
Ambiguity check
Completeness check
If the standard hierarchy contains errors, you must either reimport the
backup copy or use <ZH>Modify standard hierarchy master data</>
functionto change or correct the master data. If you decide to do the
latter, first read the documentation for the modification program
(transaction SE38, program name RKCORRH1, Display Documentation).

K0199
- Caution! You are exporting standard hierarchy & ?The SAP error message K0199, which states "Caution! You are exporting standard hierarchy &," typically occurs in the context of SAP Controlling (CO) when you are trying to export or manipulate the standard hierarchy of a cost center or internal order. This message serves as a warning that you are about to perform an action that could affect the standard hierarchy, which is a critical structure in SAP for organizing cost centers, profit centers, or internal orders.
Cause:
- Exporting Standard Hierarchy: The error is triggered when you attempt to export the standard hierarchy, which is a sensitive operation. The system is warning you that this action could have significant implications for the structure and reporting of cost centers or internal orders.
- Data Integrity Concerns: The system is designed to protect the integrity of the standard hierarchy. Exporting it may lead to inconsistencies or issues if not handled properly.
Solution:
- Review the Action: Before proceeding with the export, carefully review the necessity of this action. Ensure that you understand the implications of exporting the standard hierarchy.
- Backup Data: If you decide to proceed, ensure that you have a backup of the current hierarchy and any related data. This will allow you to restore the original state if needed.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for guidance on exporting standard hierarchies. This can provide insights into best practices and potential pitfalls.
- Seek Approval: If you are part of a larger organization, it may be prudent to seek approval from a supervisor or a member of the finance team before proceeding with the export.
- Use Transaction Codes: If you are using specific transaction codes to perform the export, ensure that you are using them correctly. For example, transaction codes like KSH1 (Create Cost Center) or KSH2 (Change Cost Center) may have specific procedures for handling hierarchies.
Related Information:
By understanding the implications of exporting the standard hierarchy and following the appropriate steps, you can mitigate risks associated with this operation.
