  • What causes this issue?

When the system generates a service program for an analysis structure,
it does so on the basis of a template program. If the template program
is changed, the service program must be regenerated.
The service program that belongs to the specified analysis structure
was not regenerated after the latest change to the template program.
The template may have been changed by a maintenance level, support
package or by the processing of a note.

    System Response

The analysis structure can still be used. The service program is
regenerated as soon as it is required. In this case, however, locks
have to be retained over a longer period in order to avoid data
inconsistencies. For this reason you are advised to start program
    generation manually.

    How to fix this error?

Regenerate the service program for the analysis structure (IMG item
    "Generate Program Environment").

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message J5243 - Service program &1 for analysis structure &2 is out-of-date;see long text ?

The SAP error message J5243 indicates that a service program associated with a specific analysis structure is out-of-date. This typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) when the data structures or programs that are used for reporting or analysis have not been updated to reflect changes in the underlying data model or business logic.

    Cause:

    1. Outdated Service Program: The service program for the specified analysis structure has not been updated after changes were made to the data model or the analysis structure itself.
    2. Changes in Data Model: If there have been changes in the InfoObjects, InfoProviders, or other related components, the service program may need to be regenerated.
    3. Transport Issues: If the changes were transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), the transport might not have included the necessary updates.

    Solution:

    1. Regenerate the Service Program:

      • Go to the transaction code RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench).
      • Navigate to the relevant InfoProvider or analysis structure.
      • Right-click on the analysis structure and select the option to regenerate the service program.
      • This will update the service program to reflect the current state of the analysis structure.
    2. Check for Changes:

      • Review any recent changes made to the data model or analysis structure.
      • Ensure that all necessary updates have been applied and that the service program is in sync with the current data model.
    3. Transport Management:

      • If the issue arose after a transport, verify that the transport included all necessary objects and that they were imported correctly.
      • If needed, re-transport the relevant objects or manually update the service program in the target system.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Check the SAP documentation or notes related to the specific analysis structure or service program for any additional steps or considerations.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as RSA1 for data warehousing, SE80 for object navigation, and SE38 for executing reports.
    • SAP Notes: Search for SAP Notes related to the specific error message or analysis structure for any known issues or patches.
    • System Logs: Review system logs for any additional error messages or warnings that may provide more context about the issue.
