How To Fix IR204 - No defaults could be determined for measurement reading transfer

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: IR - PM: IMRC - Measurement Readings and Counters

  • Message number: 204

  • Message text: No defaults could be determined for measurement reading transfer

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You have initiated a program function which should determine default
values for the transfer of <DS:GLOS.measurement_reading>measurement</>
    /<DS:GLOS.counter_reading>counter readings</> between
    <DS:GLOS.measuring_point>measuring points</>/ <DS:GLOS.counter>counters
    </>.

    System Response

You can start this function from two different screens. The system then
    works as follows:

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

If the function is started from the detail screen of a measuring point,
only default values for this measuring point are determined.
If the function is started from the overview screen of the measuring
points for a technical object, default values are determined for all
measuring points of the current technical object and all subordinate
    objects.
    Requirements:
The indicator <LS>MR transfer supported</> must first have been set at
    the respective measuring point.
In this case, the system could not determine default values for a
    measurement reading transfer.

    How to fix this error?

Observe the search criteria used by the system:
The transfer of measurement/counter readings is only possible if the
measuring points/counters concerned use the same characteristic.
To create default values, the system always searches the superior
technical objests for the current object from the bottom upwards, for
    example, first the <DS:GLOS.installation_location>installation location
</> of a piece of <DS:GLOS.equipment>equipment</> and then the superior
objects assigned to the installation location.
If one or more transfer options are found for a receiving measuring
point in a superior technical object, the search for this measuring
    point will be terminated.
