The logical system is not defined for client &V1&.

    System Response

The time data cannot be converted in this client.

    How to fix this error?

If you want to use this client productively for Human Resources, you
must define a logical system for it.
The logical system is used for the ALE (Application Link Enabling)
component. The logical system is the unique enterprise-wide description
for this client on the database. When maintaining the logical system,
you should note: The logical system must be unique throughout the
enterprise. It must not be used by any other system in the ALE system
group. In the production system, the logical system must not be changed
if a non-initial value has been entered. If a non-initial logical
system is changed afterwards, the production system may not find
certain documents. If the logical system of a document referenceis not
the same as that of the production system, the system assumes that the
    document exists in another system.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message HRTIM00CONV028 - Logical system is not defined for client &1 ?

The SAP error message HRTIM00CONV028 indicates that a logical system is not defined for the specified client. This error typically occurs in the context of time management or when working with HR data, particularly during data transfer or integration processes.

    Cause:

The error is caused by the absence of a defined logical system for the client in the SAP system. A logical system is a unique identifier for a system in a landscape, and it is necessary for various processes, including data transfers between systems.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you need to define the logical system for the client in question. Here are the steps to do this:

    1. Access the SAP GUI: Log in to your SAP system.

    2. Transaction Code: Use transaction code SCC4 to access the client administration settings.

    3. Check Client Settings: In the client settings, ensure that the client you are working with is properly configured.

    4. Define Logical System:

      • Go to transaction code BD54 (or SALE for logical system settings).
      • Here, you can define a logical system for your client. If it is not already defined, create a new entry.
      • Ensure that the logical system name follows the naming conventions and is unique.
    5. Assign Logical System to Client:

      • After defining the logical system, you need to assign it to the client.
      • Go back to transaction SCC4 and ensure that the logical system is linked to the appropriate client.
    6. Transport Requests: If you are working in a development environment, ensure that any changes are transported to the quality and production environments as needed.

    7. Testing: After making the changes, test the process that was generating the error to confirm that the issue has been resolved.

    Related Information:

    • Logical System Naming Convention: Typically, logical system names are in the format of CLIENTNAMECLNTXXX, where CLIENTNAME is the name of the client and XXX is the client number.
    • Transport Management: If you are working in a landscape with multiple systems (Development, Quality, Production), ensure that the logical system is consistently defined across all systems.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for more detailed instructions on managing logical systems and client settings.

If the issue persists after following these steps, consider checking for additional configuration settings or consulting with your SAP Basis team for further assistance.
